Week Six

This week Katie and I feared that we wouldn’t reach the amount of girls we need to start the program. In the past, we sent home Girls on the Run flyers, spoke with the girls, sent out emails, and had a parent meeting. To advertise more, we contacted mentors, Karen White and Brenda Huff. Together we came up with a solution to contact FRA’s Director of Communications, Leah Davis Glenn to be featured in the schools weekly “Panther Press”. She approved and gave us a small section in the newsletter. Right now we are currently working on the online portion of our First Aid and CPR certification training. We are also working on the online coaches training as we prepare to begin the season. After we get the team roster, we plan on meeting with all of the coaches and FRA Faculty to plan out the important aspects of the team, such as, everyday schedules, rainy day schedules and working out any conflicts with other after school activities.

  1. Way to problem solve ladies! So through the newletter are you hoping to attract more girls into the program? What is the goal number of girls?
