Week Four
How might your genius hour project help you stand out to colleges and help your life plan?
Our genius hour project will influence how colleges will look at us because The Girls on the Run program is a significant factor in whether or not they should allow us in. We saw a fit in our community for this program to help the younger girls to develop both physically and mentally into young women. Our commitment is evident through the hard work we have put into starting the program and working with the girls twice a week while also balancing our school work and sports after school. We have put in countless hours working to get this club started by getting first aid and CPR trained, talking to administration at school, meeting with directors at Girls on the Run, getting trained with Girls on the Run, meeting with the girls, and the time we put into learning the lessons for the girls. The hard work is evident to colleges and proves that we are the type of girls they want on their campus because we have a perfect example of how we had a passion and took it to the next level to pursue it. Colleges are looking for people that are willing to go outside of their comfort zone and to take charge. With this program, we have taken on a leadership role and act as role models to many. Colleges are looking for leaders to take charge on campus and be the change in this world.
Sounds like y'all got it all firgured out! Hope everything goes well.
